HAND TOOLS AND MORE
A trowel is a tool for applying, smoothing and shaping large surfaces treated with mortar. Depending on the type of base material, trowels are metal and non-metal. Metal trowels are made of stainless steel or sheet metal. Non-metallic trowels are: plastic - suitable for working with structural plasters; with ordinary rubber - for grouting, terracotta and granite tiles; polystyrene - for smoothing decorative plasters. Smooth trowels are used for applying ready-to-use putty mixtures and smoothing structured plasters. The most common are metal trowels, with a flat or serrated working surface. The flat surface is used for laying and smoothing mortars, and the serrated surface is used for applying adhesive for faience, terracotta and granite tiles. Depending on the width of the teeth, different widths of the adhesive strip are obtained. Thinner stripes mean less material and a thinner layer of glue, overall. The online store offers trowels with different types of handles: d-shaped or closed "whole" handles.
